Tips for using the search box:

1.       The new search feature searches the entire IMTS Web site minus the On-line Catalog, Professional Library, and Digital Content.  These items are maintained by Web applications outside the IMTS Web site.  However, the search feature will locate any title from these sources that we have highlighted in areas such as News You Can Use.  You may search these areas of our Web site by clicking on them in our Quick Links section on the right.

2.       The search box works on "OR" principles, meaning that every word you add to the search will broaden your results, NOT narrow them.  For instance, if you perform a search for "Civil War," it will return references to Abe Lincoln and Gettysburg.  However, it will also return references to Martin Luther King, "Civil Rights," and George Washington, "Revolutionary War." It will return the results containing both words first, but as you drill deeper into the results, these other items will appear.

Old to New - Where did it go?:

1.       IMTS Info Tab:

o        IMTS Delivery Calendar is located in two areas as a part of our new IMTS Calendar, and under Educator Resources.

o        IMTS Staff & What is IMTS? will be located in IU5 Departments on the main IU5 Web site. To access the main IU5 Web site, click the IU5 link at the top of the page.

o        Van Delivery Schedule is still in process and will be posted under Educator Resources and possibly as part of the IMTS Calendar, when the schedule is prepared for the 2005-2006 school year.

2.       Circulating Collections Tab:

o        Digital Content, On-line Catalog, & Professional Library are located under our new Quick Links section, which is located on the right side of almost any IMTS page.

o        Duplication Request Form & Materials Request Form are located under Educator Resources.

o        On-line Booking Instructions are being revised and will be available under Educator Resources, as well as the front page of the On-line Catalog.

3.       Distance Learning Tab:

o        DL Internet Resources & eVentures are located under Educator Resources in the Resource Links on the left side of the page.

o        Teleconferencing Registration Form is located under Educator Resources.

4.       Professional Development Tab:

o        CPE Tracker is located at the top of the page so that it may be accessed from anywhere on the IMTS Web site.

o        Principals' TLA & Teaching the American Story are located under our new IMTS Initiatives section, which may be found on the right side of almost any IMTS page.  Upon completion of ePTLA, the resources found on the Principals' TLA site will be moved to the Educator Resources page in the Resource Links section.

o        Professional Education Offering Forms is being revised and will be available under Educator Resources.

o        Technology Offerings is one of the main set of tabs for quick access to all of our offerings. The offerings are also part of our new IMTS Calendar.

5.       Educator Resources Tab:

o        Educational Links, ENC, ITV Links, Living Standards, NASA Bookmarks, PBS VIDEODatabase, Preview Center, POWER Library, & Standards-based Instructional Plans are located under Educator Resources in the Resource Links on the left side of the page.

o        Palm Resources is located within the Principals' TLA site, accessed via the new IMTS Initiatives section. 

o        Periodical Union List is located under Educator Resources.

o        Virtual Resources was not transferred to the new IMTS Web site. Questions concerning Virtual Resources may be sent via e-mail to: sheri_sullivan@iu5.org.

6.       News You Can Use Tab:

o        eNewsletter, Monthly Events & Activities, & Grants, Contests, & Free Items is still located under News You May Use with a similar feel, easier access to archived issues, and the ability to search Monthly Events & Activities.  Monthly Events & Activities appears in our new IMTS Calendar as well.

o        IMTS Updates Distribution List is not apart of the new site, but if you wish to receive the e-mail version of the News You Can Use eNewsletter, send an e-mail to: wendy_carson@iu5.org, with IMTS Distribution List in the Subject, the e-mail address you wish to receive the newsletter at, first and last name, and school building.

7.       Home Tab:

o        The Home tab has moved from the right to the left side of the tabs and has the same function.  Clicking on the IMTS link at the top of the page will also return you to the IMTS home page.
