Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teachers for both regular education and special education for the 2017-2018 school year. The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $75- $85 a day).  Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes. 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Required employment clearances
• Updated TB Test (within 3 months)

Position Overview:​

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit is seeking a Part-Time, Contract Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to service students during the extended school year.  This position will service students in any or all areas of the Erie, Crawford or Warren Counties.  This position can work up to 22.5 hours a week during June, July and August of 2018 and the hourly rate is $34.85 - $37.00/hr.

Position Overview:

Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking applicants for a full-time, Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in our Early Intervention (EI) department for the Tri County region for the 2018-2019 school year.  The goal of an SLP is to provide remedial services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, or hearing disorders with the outcome of improving expressive/receptive communication and attain the necessary speech and language skills. 

Required Qualifications:

• PA Educational Specialist Certificate – School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12

• PA State Licensure in Speech/Language Pathology

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) – Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.

• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

Position Overview:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking 2 part-time itinerant, English Language Development Teachers (ELD) for the Tri County area. The goal of the ELD program is to facilitate the acquisition of English language skills of students whose native or first language is not English.  ELD teachers screen, instruct and assess eligible English learners.  These are itinerant positions, but will be primarily based out of Titusville and Conneaut PA.
 
Required Qualifications: 
• PA Level 1 or Level II Teaching Certificate
• PA ESL Program Specialist K-12 Certification
• Prior experience working with ESL/ELD student population (preferred)
 
Essential Functions: 
• Provide assistance supporting the fundamental concepts and practices of ESL/ELD instruction
• Select and design teaching resources for English learners
• Provide instructional adaptations/modifications to assist English learners 
• Conduct effective assessments to identify levels of language proficiency acquisition and content learning
• Monitor English learner’s content learning
• Participate in individualized education plan preparation for English learners who are participating in special education assistance/services
• Provide school staff with resources/professional activities to promote understanding and sensitivity toward all cultures
• Provide appropriate information and services to English  learner’s family  
• Provide assistance to academic content teachers as they instruct English learners in the required content knowledge

Position Summary:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for a Part-Time Math Teacher, up to 22.5 hours per week, working with grades K-8. This position is responsible to plan, provide, and implement skill-based interventions to students that will result in students achieving academic success. The Part-Time Math Teacher will work collaboratively with professional staff to implement a quality reading program that meets the needs of students needing intervention by delivering small group instruction within established curriculum guidelines. This position will also be responsible for responding to a wide range of inquiries from student's parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Position Overview:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a part-time one-on-one Aide for a student attending Elk Valley Elementary School (Pre-K Classroom). 

Required Qualifications: 
• High school diploma or GED equivalent and successful completion of Paraprofessional Assessment OR associate’s (or higher) degree or a minimum of two years of college (64 credits).  Experience preferred working with 3-5 year olds with special needs

Essential Functions: 
• Provide assistance and support to the student to help him/her effectively and consistently be included and a part of each and every educational opportunity that is presented during the course of his/her time in the Pre-K Classroom.  This requires hand-over-hand supports, positioning, mobility support, lifting, and guidance in the educational activities throughout the course of his/her time in class
• Support and implement the interventions
, supports, and strategies that are listed in the student’s IEP
• Seek guidance
and follow-through with recommendations  from the classroom Teacher, Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Vision Consultant, and Assistive Technology Consultant, so that she is able to appropriately support and implement the necessary and required level of support and reinforcement that is needed to help the student find success in his educational environment.​

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking a part-time Math Instructor/Distance Learning Liaison to provide virtual and face-to-face instruction/support to adults in high school level mathematics, including Algebra I & II and Geometry.  This position will also manage student participation in state & local distance learning opportunities.  This is a contracted position working approximately 29 hours per week.  Some evening hours will be required.  Starting pay is $20.00 per hour.

Position Summary: 

The Coordinator for Adult Education provides program support, coordination, and professional development for instructors who engage adults in adult basic and secondary education, as well as, support for transition to work or post-secondary education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • PA Instructional Certificate
  • 1-3 years Adult Education teaching experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with student data to drive decisions
  • Experience in standards/curriculum development and workforce and/or postsecondary advisement

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform all duties of the In-House Professional Development Specialist and Student Support Coordinator as defined by the Adult Education grant
    • Provide training, consultation, and professional development support to adult education teachers
    • Serve as mentor to new adult education teachers
    • Assist adult education teachers in curriculum development aligned to grant requirements         
  • Coordinate program orientation, intake and assessment processes, and delivery of transition curriculum
  • Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the specific programmatic areas in which coordination is to be provided
  • Assist in the development and coordination of innovative programming with Title I and other WIOA and core/community partners and maintain a positive working relationship with appropriate stakeholders, funding agents, and IU5 staff
  • Assist in the development and submission of program proposals, program revisions, billing claims, final reports and oversee clerical accuracy of all documents
  • Assist in the accurate and timely collection of appropriate programmatic and fiscal data and submission to appropriate parties in accordance with program and IU guidelines
  • Assure that proper grant documentation is maintained and is accessible to key program staff
  • Maintain effective communications with, and provide regular program updates to Program Supervisor,  Supervisor, Assistant Director, and Director
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all program equipment, leases and contractual obligations
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Summer Food Service Program
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
