Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teachers for both regular education and special education for the 2017-2018 school year. The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $75- $85 a day).  Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes. 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Required employment clearances
• Updated TB Test (within 3 months)

Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teacher’s Aides in our special education classes in Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties. The job of the Teacher's Aide is to assist the teacher and reinforce the instruction taught in the classroom to students.

Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking 2 part-time itinerant Early Intervention (EI) Teachers to service students in the Tri County region. EI Teachers provide Special Education services to EI students (ages 3-5) in specialized settings to include pre-schools and day cares.
 
Required Qualifications:
• Certification in Special Education (K-6 Required)
 
Desired Qualifications:
• Certification in regular education
• Prior experience working with EI students
• Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
• Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language) 
 
Essential Functions:
• Developing lessons and teaching children in EI classrooms
• Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for EI services
• Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for EI students
• Providing EI services as determined through the IEP process
• Inputting EI data utilizing the PELICAN system

Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a part-time itinerant, English Language Development Teacher (ELD) for  the Tri County area. The goal of the ELD program is to facilitate the acquisition of English language skills of students whose native or first language is not English. ELD Teachers demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, instructional strategies and learning assessment and diagnosis related to English language acquisition.
 
Required Qualifications:
• PA Level 1 or Level II Teaching Certificate
• PA ESL Program Specialist K-12 Certification
• Prior experience working with ESL/ELD student population (preferred)
 
Essential Functions:
• Provide assistance supporting the fundamental concepts and practices of ESL/ELD instruction
• Select and design teaching resources for English learners
• Provide instructional adaptations/modifications to assist English learners
• Conduct effective assessments to identify levels of language proficiency acquisition and content learning
• Monitor English learner’s content learning
• Participate in individualized education plan preparation for English learners who are participating in special education assistance/services
• Provide school staff with resources/professional activities to promote understanding and sensitivity toward all cultures
• Provide appropriate information and services to English  learner’s family 
• Provide assistance to academic content teachers as they instruct English learners in the required content knowledge

Position Summary:
Assess and treat students with a wide range of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication using a variety of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods and specialized instruments in order to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of speech impairments. SLP’s work in conjunction with Occupational Therapists, Special Education Teachers, parents and other staff to provide services to attain both short and long range goals for the educational advancement of the student. 


Qualifications Required:
·         Master’s of Art in Speech-Language Pathology
 
Desired Qualifications:
The person in this position shall hold a currently valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in the designated area of responsibility


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
·         Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
·         Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
·         Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
·         Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
·         Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
·         Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
·         Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
·         Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
·         Plan and monitor purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position in Mathematics Education and Mathematics to begin August 2018. Applicants must have a M.Ed., MAT, or M.S. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education (or related field). The applicant should have experience teaching middle or high school mathematics (grades 7-12), with a preference given to applicants with experience mentoring pre-service or early career teachers. Responsibilities will be divided between the mathematics education and mathematics departments and include: facilitating and supervising secondary mathematics education field students; completing and filing certification paperwork with the Pennsylvania Department of Education; teaching introductory curriculum and instruction courses associated with field components; teaching introductory mathematics courses in the algebra and precalculus sequence; performing scholarly activity; and service to the school and college. After initial appointment, this position is renewable, contingent upon enrollment demands and job performance.  ​

The Northwest Tri-county Intermediate Unit is seeking two fingerprinting associates on a contract basis.  One position will be from 8:30 to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The other position will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. ​Positions are intended to start January 8, 2018.
