Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teachers for both regular education and special education for the 2018-2019 school year in Erie, Warren and Crawford Counties. The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $75- $85 a day).  Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes. 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Required employment clearances
• Updated TB Test (within 3 months)

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teacher’s Aides in our special education classes in Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties. The job of the Teacher's Aide is to assist the teacher and reinforce the instruction taught in the classroom to students.

Position Overview:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a part-time itinerant, English Language Development Teacher (ELD) for the Tri County area. The goal of the ELD program is to facilitate the acquisition of English language skills of students whose native or first language is not English.  ELD teachers screen, instruct and assess eligible English learners.  This is part-time position working 18-29.5 hours per week.
 
Required Qualifications: 
• PA Level 1 or Level II Teaching Certificate
• PA ESL Program Specialist K-12 Certification
• Prior experience working with ESL/ELD student population (preferred)
 
Essential Functions: 
• Provide assistance supporting the fundamental concepts and practices of ESL/ELD instruction
• Select and design teaching resources for English learners
• Provide instructional adaptations/modifications to assist English learners 
• Conduct effective assessments to identify levels of language proficiency acquisition and content learning
• Monitor English learner’s content learning
• Participate in individualized education plan preparation for English learners who are participating in special education assistance/services
• Provide school staff with resources/professional activities to promote understanding and sensitivity toward all cultures
• Provide appropriate information and services to English  learner’s family  
• Provide assistance to academic content teachers as they instruct English learners in the required content knowledge​

Position Summary:

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 is seekig a Full-Time Application Support Specialist. The Application Support Specialist is responsible for assigned aspects of the Intermediate Unit’s Innovative Technology Solutions (ITS) plan. This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to; application development, database administration, administering vendor-supported applications, administering user-driven services, and administering Moodle CMS.  The starting salary range for this position is $35,000 - $45,000.

Required Qualifications:

  • A two year degree in IT or other related discipline
  • Demonstrate expertise and technical knowledge in application design and development and database administration

Desired Qualifications:

  • A four year degree in IT or other related discipline
  • One to two years of technical expertise in application design and development and database administration 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain applications through coding using skills such as VB, .net framework, and scripting
  • Support organizational database administration with a direct bearing on application development to include SQL, MYSQL, SQLExpress, and SQL Mgmt Studio
  • Develop and administer in-house web applications and pages using HTML, CSS, IIS, and Apache
  • Plan and develop mobile-friendly interfaces for data submissions
  • Conduct customer needs assessment to write and generate reports using such tools as Crystal and Cognos
  • Diagnose and isolate hardware/software problems and coordinate solution response
  • Consult with customers on a regular basis regarding application and database needs to review current services and plan for future services throughout the life cycle of the application
  • A focus on customer service to meet the IT needs of IU5 employees and the organization
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain applications through coding using skills such as VB and C#, .netframework, and scripting
  • Perform other duties as assigned​

​The PENNCREST School District is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and collaborative administrator with strong educational leadership skills. Desired attributes include a proven record of: increasing student achievement, growth and creating new educational opportunities; implementing high quality professional development; implementing best practice classroom instruction; and leveraging technology for teaching and learning.

Minimum qualifications: PA Letter of Eligibility and Master’s Degree. Preferred qualifications: Ten years of administrative experience, Doctorate.

Position Summary:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for a Part-Time Math Teacher, working 18-22.5 hours per week with grades K-8. This position is responsible to plan, provide, and implement skill-based interventions to students that will result in students achieving academic success. The Part-Time Math Teacher will work collaboratively with professional staff to implement a quality reading program that meets the needs of students needing intervention by delivering small group instruction within established curriculum guidelines. This position will also be responsible for responding to a wide range of inquiries from student's parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.  The hourly rate for this position is $36.07 - $38.30.

  • PA Math Certification – K-8
