Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teachers for both regular education and special education for the 2018-2019 school year. The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $75- $85 a day).  Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes. 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Required employment clearances
• Updated TB Test (within 3 months)

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teacher’s Aides in our special education classes in Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties. The job of the Teacher's Aide is to assist the teacher and reinforce the instruction taught in the classroom to students.

Position Summary:

The Program Supervisor of Migrant Education Program will supervise all daily program activities and non- certified personnel in Migrant Education Program. Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the specific programmatic areas of Migrant Education Program. This is a 12-month, grant-funded position, located in Gettysburg, PA.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a Migrant Education Program

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to fluently speak multiple languages
  • Experience in grant writing and budget management
  • Evidence in using data to make informed decisions
  • Master’s Degree
  • PA Instructional Certificate

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of the Migrant Education Program
  • Manage the Migrant Education Program to meet all grant objectives and program goals
  • Lead migrant education instructors to utilize best practices
  • Assist in the development and submission of program proposals, program revisions, billing claims, final reports and oversee clerical accuracy of all documents
  • Assist in data analysis to provide continuous program improvement
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with appropriate stakeholders, funding agents, partners and IU5 staff.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely collection of appropriate programmatic and fiscal data and submission to appropriate parties in accordance with program and IU guidelines
  • Assure that proper grant documentation is maintained and is accessible to key program staff
  • Maintain effective communications with and provide regular program updates to the Assistant Director and Director of School Improvement Services – Federal and State Programs
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all program contractual obligations
  • Perform other duties as assigned​

​Position Summary:

The Controller for Financial Services will coordinate all activities of projects/programs assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Finance. They will develop and maintain program-level plans, budgets, forecasts and performance reports. Specifically, the Controller will estimate costs, support grants development, manage fund allocation and provide quarterly insight into program performance in-terms of budgets vs. forecasts vs. actuals.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of program planning, cost/effort estimation and tracking, budgeting and forecasting methods
  • A strong financial and accounting acumen
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a financial position that demonstrates a comprehension of key practices of the position

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the specific programmatic areas in which coordination is to be provided
  • Assist in developing and monitoring of program budgets, and oversee the accurate and timely collection of appropriate programmatic and fiscal data and submission to appropriate parties in accordance with program and IU guidelines
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with appropriate staff and Local Educational Agencies
  • Develop a knowledge of financial services and the processes of accounts payable, payroll, purchase orders, invoicing, and other activities associated with the clerical staff in Financial Services
  • Assure that proper documentation is maintained and accessible to key program staff relative to all project activities specified in project narratives and budgets
  • Perform duties in a manner that reflects professionally on the funding agent and the IU
  • Maintain effective communications with, and provide regular program summaries to, the Director and/or Assistant Director of Finance
  • Maintain accurate files and records of all program activities
  • Assist in the preparation of yearly IU Budget Book
  • Perform other duties as assigned​

​The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit is seeking applicants for a full-time Clerical Support position to support our ELECT program at our Edinboro location.  The IU5 ELECT Program provides students focused programming to support pregnant and parenting students to stay in school, have a healthy pregnancy and graduate from high school with a plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Degree

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access as well as proficient use of web-based applications
