Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for Substitute Teachers for both regular education and special education for the 2018-2019 school year in Erie, Warren and Crawford Counties. The daily rate is based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $75- $115 a day).  Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes. 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Required employment clearances
• Updated TB Test (within 3 months)

Position Summary: 

The Coordinator for Adult Education provides program support, coordination, and professional development for instructors who engage adults in adult basic and secondary education, as well as, support for transition to work or post-secondary education.  The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • PA Instructional Certificate
  • 1-3 years Adult Education teaching experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with student data to drive decisions
  • Experience in standards/curriculum development and workforce and/or postsecondary advisement

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform all duties of the In-House Professional Development Specialist and Student Support Coordinator as defined by the Adult Education grant
    • Provide training, consultation, and professional development support to adult education teachers
    • Serve as mentor to new adult education teachers
    • Assist adult education teachers in curriculum development aligned to grant requirements         
  • Coordinate program orientation, intake and assessment processes, and delivery of transition curriculum
  • Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the specific programmatic areas in which coordination is to be provided
  • Assist in the development and coordination of innovative programming with Title I and other WIOA and core/community partners and maintain a positive working relationship with appropriate stakeholders, funding agents, and IU5 staff
  • Assist in the development and submission of program proposals, program revisions, billing claims, final reports and oversee clerical accuracy of all documents
  • Assist in the accurate and timely collection of appropriate programmatic and fiscal data and submission to appropriate parties in accordance with program and IU guidelines
  • Assure that proper grant documentation is maintained and is accessible to key program staff
  • Maintain effective communications with, and provide regular program updates to Program Supervisor,  Supervisor, Assistant Director, and Director
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all program equipment, leases and contractual obligations
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Summer Food Service Program
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has a need for a Part-Time Itinerant, Title I Reading Teacher, working with grades K-6. This position is responsible to plan, provide, and implement skill-based interventions to students that will result in students achieving academic success. The Part-Time Title I Reading Teacher will work collaboratively with professional staff to implement a quality reading program that meets the needs of students needing intervention by delivering small group instruction within established curriculum guidelines. This position will also be responsible for responding to a wide range of inquiries from student's parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.  The hourly rate for this position is $36.07 - $38.30.

Required Qualifications:

  • PA Elementary Education Certification – K-6
  • Reading Specialist Certificate Preferred​

Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is accepting applications for a part-time Custodian.  This is a contract position,  approximately 20 hours per week at $15.61/hr.  Regular hours of work will be 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during days the facility is open.  Qualified applicants will have a driver's license and provide custodial support to a 3800 square foot office building. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Conference room setup
  • Cleaning office spaces, restrooms, kitchens, and meeting rooms
