The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant/Confidential Secretary in the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for assisting human resources staff with the daily operations of the department. The incumbent would be responsible for database management, employment information tracking, assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of staff and various office administrative duties. This is full-time position with a starting salary range of $30-35K. Health benefits begin on the first day of employment.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ experience in an office setting with a preference in human resources and/or school setting
Essential Functions:
• Review, monitor, and track required employment documentation to include: employment clearances, professional development, required training, certification/licensure, etc.
• Document and notify appropriate personnel of staff changes to include positional and demographic changes; ensuring timely updates in IU5 Human Resource Information System
• Assist IU5 recruitment by communicating with IU5 staff and applicants regarding application, interviews, and document collection
• Post vacancies to IU5 bargaining unit employees; notifying appropriate employees, supervisors and staff of successful/unsuccessful bids on positions
• Assist HR staff with IU5 new employee orientation to include: communicating information with the new hire, scheduling pre-employment screenings, and collecting all documentation necessary to begin their employment
• Assist IU5 personnel with drafting staff contracts; ensuring accuracy and compliance with all necessary organizational requirements
• Augment current HR staff with administering the Cogent FBI Fingerprint 
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit is seeking applicants for a part-time Human Resource Assistant at our office in Edinboro, Pa, for the months of June, July, and August. This position would work with the IU5 Human Resources databases, document management of organizational personnel and other HR duties as assigned. Applicants should have a strong background with Microsoft Office products and prior experience working in an office setting. The starting salary for this position is $10.25 per hour; Monday through Thursday (28 hours/week). Interested applicants please send your resume to
