| Are you interested in working with a diverse group of students, looking to pick up some extra hours/extra pay? If you hold a PA Elementary, Reading Specialist, or English Instructional Certificate and are currently working part-time or not employed, you may want to consider pursuing an English as a Second Language Program Specialist certification. IU 5 provides services to ESL students in our Consortium districts. Students may move into a district at any time and require English/Language Arts support. We often need to fill a position very quickly, so we are looking for qualified applicants who might be interested should a position become available. The IU offers an ESL Program Specialist certification program which consists of graduate courses that also count for Act 48 purposes. If you are hired as an IU 5 ESL teacher, these courses are provided to you at no cost.
If you think you might be interested, please call Maggie Niles at 734-8411 or e-mail Maggie at maggie_niles@iu5.org.
